It was initially going to cost around €900,000 but the need for even bigger works has bumped up the total cost of Portimão’s PSP police station revamp to €1.6 million.
As Correio da Manhã points out, even the station’s cells are so outdated that they do not fill the legal requirements and cannot be used.
The works are expected to begin soon and be completed in two years.
