INEM medical emergency staff were surprised to find a four-legged patient arrive at Lamego’s SUB (casualty department).
“He didn’t come to be stroked, but for help”, operatives tweeted. “He had a serious hemorrhage in one of his paws…”
“We managed to control the bleeding” said João Correia and Isabel Ferreira, “and he was transported by hospital staff to a vet.
“He’ll be fine, but he was a very different patient to the kind we usually deal with…”
Heartwarming images have been widely-shared as commentators remark that this is just another example of how animals have much more intelligence than we usually give them credit for.
