Poetry on a plate
Conveniently located just off the Almancil bypass, close to the picturesque church of São Lourenço, Solar do Poeta is rapidly gaining a reputation for great service and fine dining.
Chef/joint owner Simon Brader and his team offer a warm welcome and a selection of mouth-watering, tempting dishes to satisfy the most discerning palate, catering for all tastes.
Enjoy your meal in the restaurant’s cosy dining room or on the sunny terrace on warmer days.
Our selection from the varied menu included a starter of crab ravioli, served with a clam and mussel sauce, a main course for fish lovers of pan-fried fillet of sea bass with fresh asparagus, scallops and a white wine scallop reduction; a trio of lamb, consisting of lamb cutlet, pulled lamb and stuffed breast served with spinach, garlic, rosemary and roasted red pepper with a cranberry red wine reduction; and for dessert the delicious tipsy cake with ice cream.
The menu is complemented by a growing, comprehensive and carefully selected wine list.
At Solar do Poeta, Friday is Steak Night, and diners can expect succulent fillet and sirloin steaks, hand-cut chips and other great sides (all served with a glass of house wine, beer or soft drink).
Traditional Sunday carvery of roasted meats, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables is served from 12 noon to 3pm.
A Christmas menu is available during December for large parties. Solar do Poeta will be open on Christmas Day from 12 noon to 3pm (early bookings essential as only a few places left).
Year-round bookings for private parties available.
