At a time when locals are rising up against the construction of a controversial bridge over the Gilão, Tavira Council has confirmed that a new bridge over the Almargem stream is already open to pedestrians.
Part of the former bridge collapsed last year, prompting the council to plough €158,000 into the construction of a new one. The bridge is part of the regional Ecovia do Litoral trail.
