Silves Castle has been named one of the 10 most beautiful in Portugal by Civitatis, a company offering online bookings of guided tours, excursions and other tourist activities.
“It is one of the largest and best-preserved castles in the country and an example of Islamic military architecture,” says the company.
Also featured on the list are the castles of Almourol, Mouros, Óbidos, Guimarães, Santa Maria da Feira, Tomar, Lisbon, Marvão and Monsaraz.
