The Delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus accounted for every detected case in the Algarve and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo regions between June 28 and July 4, according to a report by the Ricardo Jorge National Health Institute released on Tuesday.
Further data shows that the variant, said to be the most contagious so far, also accounted for the vast majority of cases (86.6%) in the whole country.
