While the number is still down compared to the record-breaking year of 2019, the Algarve’s hotels registered much more ‘normal’ occupancy levels in April 2022, with 60.4% of their rooms booked.
Data from Algarve hoteliers’ association AHETA shows this is just under five percentage points below 2019 (65.2%), but a huge leap compared to the pandemic years of 2020 (1.1%) and 2021 (8.1%).
