Albufeira Council has purchased a portable ultrasound machine and donated it to the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).
The equipment will be used on the Algarve’s medical emergency helicopter and will help “quickly diagnose critical situations” such as trauma and serious haemorrhages.
Around €7,000 was invested to purchase the portable ultrasound device, the council added.
