Located at Sítio do Carrascal in Odiáxere, the new Continente Modelo opened to the public last Friday with a team of 92 employees, a sales area of 2297 square meters and 492 parking spaces.
Patrícia Silva, director of the new hypermarket, says, “it is always with joy and enthusiasm that we open a new Continente store. We want to remain close to our customers, for greater convenience, with the greatest variety of offers and the best prices. The team of the new Continente Modelo Odiáxere will certainly positively surprise our customers in the Algarve and all those who visit us.”
The brand’s second store in the municipality of Lagos was built with the environment in mind, featuring photovoltaic solar panels on its roof, 100% LED low-consumption lamps, consumption control equipment and recycling containers for used batteries and cork stoppers.
Like all of the brand’s stores, the Odiáxere shop enables consumers to use reusable bags when buying fruit, vegetables and bakery goods. It also allows consumers to help fight food waste by selling 0% waste boxes containing 5 kilos of fruits and vegetables in good consumption conditions but close to their sell-by date, for just 0.50€.
To mark its new opening in the region, Missão Continente – the brand’s charitable branch – offered shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: Refood de Lagos, the Lagos Portuguese Red Cross delegation, Lucinda Anino Santos Social Assistance Center and animal protection association Cadela Carlota & Cª. These four institutions will benefit from Missão Continente’s permanent support, receiving daily food surplus from the new Continente Modelo Odiáxere store.
This opening reinforces Continente’s commitment to the Faro district, which now includes 20 shops. The store is open daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
