Two GNR agents in Bragança are being investigated over an alleged swindle of an elderly widow in her 80s, reports SIC television news. The woman’s brother claims his sister was convinced into writing a cheque for the purchase of a property in Porto – but has now been left without the money, and without the property. The woman was ‘referenced by the GNR’s “Programa Apoio 65” – a service set out to provide help to elderly people living alone in isolated areas.
