Vila Real de Santo António bakes giant charity Christmas cake

Slices of the 60-metre-long cake will be sold in aid of the local Scouts Association and Santa Casa da Miséricordia.

Vila Real de Santo António is preparing to bake a giant Bolo-rei (Christmas cake) in aid of charity. This Saturday, December 10, from 10.30 am, the public will have the opportunity to taste the 60-metre cake.

Made by “A Padaria”, with the support of the Municipality and the Vila Real de Santo António Parish, the cake will be laid out next to the Firefighters’ Garden.

Slices of the giant bolo-rei will be sold in aid of Portugal’s Scouts Association (Group 60) and Vila Real de Santo António’s Santa Casa da Misericórdia.

Vila Real de Santo António’s Cultural Association Philharmonic Band and students of the Regional Conservatory will provide musical entertainment during the event.
