Portugal “not planning” Covid checks on incoming Chinese

Contrary to decisions by other countries, Portugal is not planning to introduce Covid checks on incoming Chinese tourists now that the country is finally ‘opening up’ and allowing its citizens to travel freely. An official source for the ministry of health has confirmed entry requirements will stay exactly the same, albeit authorities will continue to “accompany the situation”. Various countries, including the US, Italy, France and Japan, have decided to impose (or are at least considering) a return to the requirement for negative tests in incoming Chinese passengers, by dint of the fact that China is suffering a ‘wave’ of Covid infections following the abandonment of its ‘zero Covid’ policy.
