Commenting on the ongoing political crisis, and the number of government officials that have had to leave their posts in various ‘scandals’ over the past nine months, Luís Marques Mendes said in his regular Sunday night slot on SIC that the executive of prime minister António Costa will need a miracle to survive until the end of its current mandate in 2026. Marques Mendes, a State advisor and former leader of the centre-right PSD, believes many of the recent embarrassments “need not have happened”, had their been more care taken in choosing people for government responsibilities.
