A routine GNR traffic patrol detained a couple on the A2 in the early hours of this morning, after 34 kilos of hashish was discovered in their car. The duo was stopped in a routine police check near Aljustrel on the south/ north stretch of the motorway – and agents were ‘alerted’ to what they deemed the couple’s ‘suspicious behaviour’. The amount of drug found in the car was equivalent to 67,308 individual doses, said police. The couple has been remanded in preventive custody.
