Even before negotiations have resumed (they are due to take place tomorrow and again on Friday), S.T.O.P (the syndicate of all education professionals) has extended its ‘indefinite strike’ notice to March 10. S.T.O.P coordinator André Pestana insists the syndicate has a legal mandate to continue its industrial action, and that it is committed to handling this process legally. S.T.O.P has been boycotting lessons in schools since the beginning of December albeit it is now bound by the Court of Arbitration’s decision that pupils should have a minimum of three lesson periods per day.
