GNR crackdown launched to promote ‘safe driving habits’

Following a dismal double Bank Holiday long weekend, in which 14 people died in accidents on the nation’s roads, and dozens more were injured, GNR police have launched a crackdown on drivers, starting today and running until next Monday. Agents on the roads will be particularly looking out for people driving under the effects of alcohol and/ or ‘psychotropic substances’. In a similar campaign last year, police identified almost 29,500 drivers with above legal limits of alcohol in their blood. Over 13,180 were arrested.
