Two charity swims will again be held this festive season in Armação de Pêra.
The special swims will be on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1), from 10.30am to 12 noon, on the beach at Armação de Pêra. Meet on the beach near the Holiday Inn Algarve Hotel.
Say organisers, the Clube dos Veículos Clássicos do Barlavento: “Come and join us for a fun-filled charity swim – have a dip in the ocean and help to raise money for local families in need.
“Bring your swimwear and a towel and go in for a swim – or just a paddle – as long as a part of you gets wet! Christmas Day – why not wear a Santa Suit? And on New Year’s Day, you can wear your pajamas!”
Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that they do so at their own risk.
“Please bring a donation and help us to raise money which will be passed to the Junta de Freguesia de Armação de Pêra (Parish Council) to help families in need in the area. We will gratefully accept all donations offered,” say organisers.
