A 38-year-old man presumed ‘lost at sea’ in Madeira five days ago, has been found alive at the base of a cliff in Caniço de Baixo, Santa Cruz. The rescue followed searches by Maritime Police, and involved lifeboat crews and the Portuguese Navy. The man has been transported to hospital in Funchal.
