Carols on the Cliffs, Carvoeiro – keep the magic going!

After an overwhelming response last year – more than 500 people attended – we are wildly enthusiastic about this year’s carolling on the clifftops above Carvoeiro. Join us on December 21 at 6pm at the amphitheatre behind the Carvoeiro Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação.

Many of us remember the joy of singing Christmas carols, some at school, some in choirs, some door to door, with snowflakes falling, some round the Christmas tree. This night is for us to keep the magic going.

Carols on the Cliffs is a free outdoor community singing event for all. We stress that this is not a concert or a performance. The stars will be you who show up and sing with us. Sustenance will be at hand with mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and stollen. This is a family friendly fundraiser for the Portimão girls’ home CNSC (Casa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição) and the Lagoa Food Bank.

We will sing carols in English, French, Dutch and Portuguese – and many of them will have multi-lingual verses. Carol sheet is supplied. We are very fortunate to have acclaimed European musical artiste Carmen Danen co-presenting and leading the Dutch singing.

This year we have the support of many members of The Algarveans Theatre Group, notably Angela Theobold (vocals) and Anne Stevens (keyboard), and many others taking care of refreshments and technical aspects. Also, the inimitable Tim Stevens leading the 12 Days of Christmas. Who could ever forget that!
