A centuries-old oak tree (Quercus rotundifolia) located in São Brás de Alportel is in the running for the title of ‘Tree of the Year 2024’.
The tree, believed to be around 250 years old, finished second in the voting last year and is now looking to take the top spot.
Voting is open online until 11.59pm on January 5. The winner will be announced on January 10.
