US investment fund offers €6 billion for Altice Portugal 

North American private equity fund Warburg Pincus has teamed up with former Lloyds banking CEO/ ex-chairman of Credit Suisse Horta Osório in a bid for Altice Portugal – the telecoms business that runs MEO and which is the subject of a criminal investigation over millions allegedly defrauded from the Portuguese State. According to reports, if successful in the bid, Horta Osório could end up with a role in the company. Altice Portugal remains on the radar of various investors, including Saudi Telecom, says negociosonline. Other potential bidders include Apax Partners, Apollo Global Management and CVC Capital Partners.
