The municipality of Lagoa and the Portimão Hotel and Tourism School are teaching a course on the region’s iconic Negra Mole grape variety on January 23, 24 and 31.
Starting next week, Vinhos Negra Mole, a three-day course on the Algarve’s iconic Negra Mole grape variety, will be taught at Lagoa’s Municipal Library.
Covering topics such as wine types and styles, organoleptic characteristics, and principles of wine pairing with regional products, the course will be held on January 23, 24 and 31 between 15h30 and 18h30.
The course is aimed at “Lagoa-based professionals who wish to optimise their soft and hard skills, particularly restaurant and beverage professionals, and other interested parties”, says the organisation.
The course aims to provide participants with knowledge of the history of Algarve wine and its current context, to learn about the principles of eno-gastronomic pairing, and explore how different styles of wine made with the indigenous Negra Mole grape variety are paired with the region’s delicacies.
The course is free and certified. However, it is subject to mandatory registration and available places. Those interested in taking the course must be registered at the Academia Digital and register for the course here.
