Minister of National Defence, Helena Carreiras, has announced Portugal will be contributing €1 million to the joint purchase of large calibre ammunition for Ukraine. In Brussels for a ministerial meeting at NATO headquarters, she said that (one of) Ukraine’s most urgent needs is for 155 millimetre ammunition. The Portuguese contribution is part of the European Union’s goal of supplying Ukraine with one million artillery rounds by the end of the year.
