The 15th congress of Portugal largest trade union federation – the CGTP – begins today in Seixal (near Lisbon) and sees a number of ‘familiar faces’ handing on the baton, due to age. Among outgoing members of the executive committee will be CGTP secretary general Isabel Camarinha, FENPROF leader Mário Nogueira and FECTRANS coordinator José Manuel Oliveira. In all, 39 union leaders are being replaced out of the 147 that make up the CGTP.
