Tom Jones will be bringing his biggest hits to the Algarve
Sir Thomas Jones Woodward, best known as Tom Jones, will be performing at the 21st Summer Gala of the Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira on Friday, August 2.
“The talented and charismatic Tom Jones, at 83 years old, continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his timeless discography and the energy he brings to the stage. With a remarkable career spanning over six decades, Tom Jones is regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time and a beloved, influential figure in the music industry, having sold over 100 million records,” the Algarve resort says in a statement to the press.
It continues: “Sir Tom is indeed a living legend, one of the few musical artists whose profession began at the dawn of modern popular music who continues to have a vital recording and performing career to this day. His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, cuts across class divides and appeals to young and old, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge. Sir Tom has always been about the power of the song, the power of the voice.”
Tickets for the concert are already for sale on the resort’s website, costing €49 per person (early bird discount) until March 31, after which the price will go up to €79. There is also the option to add a buffet (additional €395) or set menu dinner (€595) to complete the experience.
The Summer Gala is an annual summer event hosted by Pine Cliffs for over 21 years. Throughout the years, the resort’s gardens have welcomed big names from the music industry such as Rui Veloso, Gloria Gaynor, Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, Joe Cocker, and UB40, among many others.
Sir Tom Jones is just the latest artist to add his name to the list and is sure to attract scores of fans to hear some of his biggest hits, from ‘It’s Not Unusual’ all the way to ‘Sex Bomb’. For his contributions to music, he was an OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 1998 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006.
