Centrally located in Lagos, Medilagos is the sister clinic of the well-established stalwart of Algarve medical services, LuzDoc. This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary since our founder, Dr Maria Alice Serrano e Silva, made the decision to open this second clinic, moved by the will to provide improved access, for both established and new clients, to the proven tailor-made medical services advocated by LuzDoc.
This vision, as well as meeting the expanding demand for new, progressive and innovative health care solutions, is upheld and implemented by a team dedicated to the philosophy of a patient-centric, healthcare professional partnership in order to maintain and improve overall wellness and wellbeing of the individual. At Medilagos this holistic approach, offering support that looks at the whole person, considering their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, is met through a variety of health professionals and services.
These services are led by Dr Joanna Karamon, Clinical Director of LuzDoc, a South African trained General Practitioner who has been working at LuzDoc since 2001. Together with Dr Mário Ferreira, a consultant in General and Family Medicine, they will now be holding general medicine consultations at Medilagos twice a week, with the idea of further expanding this service in the near future.
In addition to GM consultations, treating both acute and chronic medical conditions, we also offer health care services that complement our philosophy of overall wellness and wellbeing in the individual. These include:
- Specialist consultations in Dermatology, Aesthetic Medicine and Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery;
- An established team of Physiotherapists offering an integrative and personalised rehabilitation service, helping clients to regain and maintain their best physical condition;
- An experienced Podiatry service;
- A certified Esthetician and Medical Micropigmentation technician, specialised in treating dermatological conditions such as pigmentation alterations (vitiligo) , stretch marks, as well as post-surgical scarring, and 3-D nipple restoration post-mastectomy.
