Paulo Raimundo, secretary-general of Portugal’s Communist Party (which was reduced to 4 MPs in Sunday’s elections) has announced that his party will be presenting a motion to reject AD’s government programme once parliament convenes. Pledging to be “the opposition” to right-wing politics “from the first minute”, he told a press conference today “we have no illusions about what the project of the PSD and CDS, of the right, is. We have no illusions about the path and the consequences for the lives of the people, the workers and the country”.
