New Silves art fair aims to “fill a void” in Portuguese art market
Vision Art Fair, a new contemporary art fair organised by the same team behind the Art Expo Algarve in Portimão, will be held in Silves from March 21 to 24.
Taking place at the FISSUL building, the event will feature artworks by more than “50 emerging and internationally established and independent artists” from over 20 countries.
According to organisers, Vision Art Fair will “fill a void in the Portuguese art market, allowing independent artists to exhibit works to a bigger audience,” in an attempt to “develop and promote the artistic and cultural sector in the Algarve.”
The event will be an “important milestone in modern and contemporary art, attracting art lovers, buyers and artists of various nationalities,” they say, adding: “This is a big opportunity for art lovers and buyers to interact directly with the artists and buy art at very affordable prices”.
The team behind the event also says that Vision Art Fair is the art fair that takes place in the south of Portugal in the spring.
“It can be said that finally the Algarve has a fair with international recognition, where independent painters, photographers, illustrators, and sculptors can show their work to a new audience and thus promote themselves internationally,” they add.
The fair, which is wheelchair-accessible, will be free to visit and open from 11am to 8pm.
