SNS health service ARSes finally become extinct

The Portuguese health service ARSes (standing for Regional Health Administrations, famously ridiculed by English-speakers by dint of their initials) are finally no more. The final Council of Ministers of the outgoing caretaker government has rendered them ‘extinct’, transferring their functions to the more acceptable abbreviations of ULS (standing for Local Health Units). No more reasons to chuckle when authorities refer to ‘ARS Algarve’… the ARS has been taken out of the equation.
