Jocelyn McCall Ferreira announced as new British Vice Consul in Portimão

Clive Jewell is retiring after 14 years in the role

Jocelyn McCall Ferreira has been announced as the successor to British Embassy Vice Consul in Portimão, Clive Jewell, who is retiring at the end of March after nearly 14 years in the role.

The announcement was made on the ‘Brits in Portugal’ Facebook page, the official page for the Britsh Embassy in Lisbon.

“Jocelyn was born in Scotland and came to the Algarve as a child, aged 5. She returned to the UK to study at university, but maintained one foot in the Algarve, working summer seasons at Zoomarine,” the embassy says.

The future Vice Consul also worked for Barclays Bank and APAL (Albufeira Promotion Agency), later completing her MBA before taking up a position with airport authority ANA at Faro Airport, where she was worked in aviation marketing for the last 15 years.

“In her spare time, Jocelyn is an amateur triathlete competing in local and national races, including competing soon in the Madeira Island Ultra-trail for the first time! We wish Jocelyn a very warm welcome to the consular team in Portugal and wish her every success in her new role,” the statement adds.
