Busway, a subsidiary of the Israeli group Afifi, has won the tender for public road transport in the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community, the executive secretary of the community told Lusa today. The jury has proposed awarding the three road transport lots in the tender to Busway, for around €40 million (plus VAT) for five years of operation. Several bids were received, but Busway’s was on average “20% below the base price”, said Lusa’s source. Busway already runs public road transport in the Aveiro region.
