A GNR corporal, aged 48, collapsed with heart failure during a fitness test run in Cascais on Wednesday and is now on a ventilator in ‘critical condition’ in hospital. The corporal, attached to the GNR’s GIOP (group of intervention and public order) received prompt medical attention after his ‘cardiorespiratory failure’ and is now in Hospital Santa Cruz, in Carnaxide, which specialises in cardiac pathologies.
