President accepts list of secretaries of State for Portugal’s XXIV government

Secretaries to be sworn in at Palácio de Ajuda at 6pm

President Marcelo has now formally accepted the list of 41 secretaries of State proposed by Portugal’s new prime minister Luís Montenegro, for the XXIV Government.

The swearing-in of the various men and women is scheduled for 6pm this evening at the Palácio de Ajuda, where the government was sworn in on Wednesday.

Tomorrow, the entire government is due to have an informal meeting in Óbidos, Leiria district.

As Lusa explains, the line up of new secretaries shows that Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken back control of European affairs (which passed in 2022 to office of prime minister António Costa).
