The Operation Influencer case against former Prime Minister António Costa – the ‘paragraph’ that prompted his resignation and fall of the PS absolute majority government – is to be transferred from the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Justice (STJ) to the Central Department for Investigation and Criminal Action (DCIAP). This signifies that the lack of action on this ‘suspicion’ that the former PS secretary general may have facilitated business may finally be ‘dealt with’ rapidly: perhaps in time for the European elections which so many believe will pave the way to Mr Costa next political role.
