PJ police have once again raided Areeiro Parish Council as part of Operation Tutti Frutti, a long-running case investigating alleged illegal party funding schemes in several Lisbon councils. At issue are alleged collusions between PS and PSD local council leaders, through contracts, public contracts and direct agreements. ‘In the frame’ (for years) but in no way cited as ‘official suspects’, are former finance minister/ former Lisbon mayor Fernando Medina, former minister of the environment Duarte Cordeiro, and former PSD MP Sérgio Azevedo.
