Convento’bio Lagoa’s stalls were almost blown away, but successful for APAA’s president Jenny Clarke and ‘Pop-Up’ head girl Anita.
Their fellow stall-holder Fiona of Fi-Line Fashions, stalwart APAA member, has good news. ‘Chump Chops’, Fiona’s foundling dog in need, having received veterinary care. Surgery, high on the bill, got help from the Association for Protection of Animals Algarve. Fiona, selling bequeathed jewellery, funds for ‘Chump’. “It all helps!” It certainly does.
Tinker? Jenny’s not a happy bunny. “Tinker, a stray adopted by a couple who had to return to England.” APAA arranged to feed and look after the cat. Unfortunately, on one visit, the cat looked a little fragile. “It was a hot day,” Jenny recollects.
Having ensured puss was cooled down and watered and fed, Jenny left a happier feline friend. Unfortunately, on the following visit, the cat had seemed a little worse. “Sadly, by the time we contacted the owners and explained the situation, Tinker had relapsed and died.” It turns out, however, that she was at least 15 years old. Perhaps Puss was ready for her final home? Cremations with Câmara, quick and efficiently through local vet. Pre-cremation storage around €20/€25. Privately: €275-€750 depending on weight and container for ashes. Tinker had a posh parting.
