The low-cost bus company announced three new direct routes in the Algarve, connecting Faro, Gago Coutinho Airport, and Albufeira to Lisbon Airport.
FlixBus announced that it is now possible to travel by bus to the country’s three international airports. Following Porto and Faro, Lisbon Airport now integrates FlixBus’ Portuguese domestic and international network, connecting national airports and Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
From now on, you can travel by FlixBus from Porto, Albufeira, Faro city and airport, or even from the Beira Interior region directly to Lisbon Airport.
The first FlixBus lines to and from Lisbon airport are already operating, and aim to reduce the use of private vehicles on trips to the airport.
“These new routes result from our strategy to strengthen direct connections to national airports, making connecting trips easier for all air travellers. We believe that, with good shared mobility solutions, people going to airports can leave their car at home and opt for public transport”, says Pablo Pastega, general director of FlixBus for Portugal and Spain.
“It is not just the Portuguese who benefit from the new connections to Lisbon Airport. From now on, you can travel directly from the capital’s airport to Badajoz, Mérida, or Cáceres. We want to facilitate journeys for all those who need to travel to any of these airports, or those who, upon arriving in Portugal, need to take connecting flights from an airport other than their airport of arrival”, says Pastega.
