Ria Formosa Natural Park turns 46

The nature reserve’s anniversary will be marked on May 4 with an open day offering activities for the whole community.

The Ria Formosa Natural Park (PNRF) turns 46 and will celebrate its milestone on May 4 with a programme of activities open to the community.

According to the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF), the open day will offer activities such as boat trips, wildlife and plant observation routes, slide, stand-up paddle, traditional games, lectures, and recreational-scientific activities.

Apart from the boat trips, all activities will take place at the Marim Environmental Education Centre in Olhão. These activities are provided by partner organisations to celebrate the anniversary of the PNRF in collaboration with theICNF.

The public presentation of the PNRF’s Co-Management Plan is scheduled to take place on the same day at 11h00in the CEAM auditorium. The event will be attended by the Regional Director for the Algarve’s Nature and ForestsConservation, Castelão Rodrigues, and the President of the Co-Management Commission at the PNRF, Rogério Bacalhau.
