The Centro Cultural Convento de São José in Lagoa is showing Michael J. Webster’s “Retrospective & Vision” exhibition between May 18 and June 29.
The exhibition’s inauguration, marking the artist’s creative jubilee, is happening this Saturday, May 18, at 18h30.
The British artist, who studied chemical and physical science in Hull and York and obtained a master’s degree in pedagogy, pursued a career as a Senior Educator in International Schools in England and Germany.
Upon his retirement, Michael moved to Praia do Carvoeiro with his wife, Annemarie, where he nurtured his creative work. Since then, he has delved into colours and painting, mainly acrylic, seeking perfection through experimentation.
In his retrospective exhibition, compiling over 50 years of creative work, he aims to showcase countless figurative and surrealist creations.
The “Retrospective & Vision” exhibition can be viewed from May 18 to June 29 in the Manuel Gamboa Temporary Exhibition Room at the Convento de São José Cultural Centre in Lagoa.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 09h30 to 12h30 and from 14h30 to 17h30.
Admission is free.
