Jared Leto, the famous Hollywood actor and lead singer of American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars, delighted fans with a series of impromptu street performances in Lisbon on Thursday.
The unexpected acoustic performances happened a day after the band’s concert at MEO Arena and saw Leto, with his acoustic guitar in hand, performing alongside the band’s guitarist Steve Aiello.
Most of the songs were performed at the bustling Terreiro do Paço square although Leto and Aiello also walked down streets in the Chiado neighbourhood, stopping to perform for fans along the way.
Social media was immediately flooded with photos and videos of fans sharing the unexpected moment.
30 Seconds to Mars has received several accolades, having been named one of the best artists of the 2000s by Kerrang magazine. Jared Leto’s career as an actor has also seen him win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a transgender woman in the 2013 film Dallas Buyers Club.
