Almost 90% of the 252,209 voters who registered to vote in advance showed up to cast their ballots last Sunday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) told Lusa.
The number of voters who voted in advance for the European elections totalled 225,039, corresponding to 89% of the 252,209 registered, said the same source.
The data was transmitted by the 308 municipal councils and refers to voters in mainland Portugal and the islands, according to the MAI.
