The PS Socialist ‘project’ to abolish tolls completely on ex-SCUT highways – a move that will cost the government dearly – has been approved in its ‘speciality’ (one of the phases as proposals go through parliament), meaning the project is on track to become ‘law’ on January 1 next year. The government’s attempts to pass IRS tax relief for the under-35s have been delayed. The government has however managed to see ‘pass’ its property purchase tax relief for under-35s. PS Socialists and Bloco de Esquerda refused to support the plan, abstaining from the final voting.
