Tens of thousands of pupils (the exact figure is not yet known) completed their 9th year final Mathematics exam yesterday, on paper, following the government’s decision (welcomed by parents/ teachers and school directors alike) to annul the last administration’s ruling that the exercise should take place ‘digitally’. The reason for the change of plan was, said AD, to guarantee fairness to all pupils. The new administration appreciated the difficulties of schools ‘asssuring the necessary conditions’ for all their pupils to be examined this way (specifically because so many computers promised to them were taking their time to arrive, let alone be ready and connected for major exams).
