Police were involved in a high-speed chase through Lisbon yesterday after a man was shot in the leg outside Cais de Sodré station. Seven suspects ‘involved in the attack’ made off, first on foot, then in a car that ‘sped into the Bairro Alto’. The injured man was transported to Hospital São José, and is described as “out of danger”. A 9mm shell casing was identified at the scene. Tabloid reports refer to the gun being “a weapon of war”.
