The inauguration of a Big Wheel in the Jardim Manuel Bivar on June 12 marked the beginning of the entertainment programme.
Faro municipality, in collaboration with multiple local groups and associations, is gearing up to kick off the summer season in the region.
The festivities will include different activities such as a Euro 2024 Fan Zone, a Big Wheel in the Jardim Manuel Bivar, reactivating the “Faro Somos Todos” (We Are All Faro) campaign, and a “Solstice of Summer” entertainment programme on June 21 and 22, which will include performances by “RFM Time Machine” and Expensive Soul, among others.
This extended entertainment programme began this week with the inauguration of the Big Wheel in the Manuel Bivar Garden, offering a beautiful view of the city and the Ria Formosa.
The city’s Euro 2024 Fan Zone was officially launched yesterday, June 14, the day of the opening match of the European Football Championship. This area will feature live broadcasts of the tournament’s matches and musical performances by DJs, street food stalls, beverage stations, and a “Faro Somos Todos” stand.
The “Faro Somos Todos” campaign was also reactivated yesterday and is set to last until September 7. The campaign will include three prize draws, including prizes such as €20,000 to spend at participating establishments, a car, a scooter, and more. More information on the”Faro. Another highlight this season is the “Summer Solstice” programme, which will take place on June 21 and 22 on the Doca stage. The first day of the event will focus on music from the 80s, 90s, and 00s with the RFM Time Machine. The second day will feature performances by Expensive Soul, a Samba Circle, and a DJ.
This set of initiatives is just a part of those scheduled for the summer under the protocol between the municipality and the associations. The goal is to revitalize the city and support local businesses, hotels, and restaurants. The complete programme of initiatives will soon be available here.
