Victims of defrauding bank manager lodge criminal complaints against Millennium BCP

At least six clients of Ericeira’s Millennium bank have been forced to lodge criminal complaints because the bank refuses to indemnify them for the recognised thefts of a former employee (who has since committed suicide, almost taking her entire immediate family with her). Millennium’s refusal rests on the basis that some of the woman’s handiwork (ie the manner in which she forged client signatures) was so convincing that the bank cannot be sure they really are forgeries. It is already well established that the bank employee managed to divert up to €3 million in client money.
