Farense’s rebuilt starting eleven for the new season will have a distinctive Spanish feel to it after 25-year-old ex-Espanyol, Tenerife and Burgos forward Alex Bermejo arrived in the Algarve capital and is likely to be joined by 24-year-old right winger Alex Calatrava whose former Atlético de Madrid colleague Marco Moreno already made the trip west last week.
Also new in Faro is 34-year-old Brazilian central defender Raul Silva, who most recently enjoyed a successful campaign in Romania following spells with Marítimo, Estoril and, most notably, Sporting Braga.
Meanwhile, Portimonense are looking forward to the return of striker Bryan Rochez after a season-long loan at União de Leiria during which the Honduran scored 11 goals and made four assists in 22 matches. The Algarveans missed out on a reunion with Klismahn, however, the Brazilian preferring to make his loan arrangement with newly-promoted Santa Clara permanent. The league’s licensing process, representing Portimonense’s last chance of reinstatement, will be concluded this Friday, June 28.
