Thousands of rail commuters have had to negotiate another day of ‘hell’ thanks to the latest strike by CP train workers, endorsed by several unions and being “almost completely adhered to”, according to general secretary of FECTRANS (the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions) José Manuel Oliveira. “At the moment, the commercial part (meaning ticket offices) of CP is closed, and traffic that has taken place is what was programmed under minimum services. For the rest, there is no more traffic, nor are there any workers in the workplace,” he told Lusa, stressing services would almost certainly be affected well into Saturday.
