Offering a selection of petiscos, wines and traditional sweets, the luxury resort’s two new restaurants are a tribute to Portugal’s agricultural, fishing and baking heritage.
Vale do Lobo is kicking off the summer season with two new dining experiences. Located on the beachside resort’s famous square, the Tinto and Doce restaurants celebrate Portuguese essence, its iconic dishes and flavours.
The first of the two, Tinto, pays homage to traditional Portuguese taverns, where farmers and fishermen would gather after work to share stories over simple, authentic dishes accompanied by local wines.
Tinto was designed to please the senses. The restaurant is characterised by its engaging atmosphere, which features high tables reminiscent of a Portuguese tavern and more intimate dining tables.
The restaurant has capacity for 120 people, with tables divided between the bright indoor dining room and the spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the Praça de Vale do Lobo resort complex and the Atlantic Ocean.
On the menu, a selection of 40 snacks promises to awaken the senses on a journey of aromas and flavours. These delicacies bring flavours from the traditional taverns of the north of Portugal, the rich agricultural lands of the central regions and the southern Algarve coast.
Diners can order as many dishes as they want, each revealing its own history and heritage. These include cuttlefish strips with lemon and garlic mayonnaise, lamb roasted in wine, a light and fresh octopus salad and exceptional oven-baked rice with traditional sausage.
In turn, pairings with local wines elevate the tasting experience. Upon entering the restaurant, customers are greeted by an impressive floor-to-ceiling wine cellar that showcases a fantastic selection of Portuguese wines.
Open daily from 12h00 to 23h00, Tinto treats its customers to a welcome glass of bubbly. After that, they can choose from a large selection of wines, most of which are also available by the glass, enabling them to create their own pairing for each snack.
Children are also welcome at Tinto, with a menu specially developed for them to discover some of the national culinary delights.
Doce, the second new gastronomic spot, celebrates the rich Portuguese pastry heritage. Doce features exquisite pastries, a wide selection of juices and smoothies, salads made with the freshest local ingredients and a special Portuguese version of afternoon tea.
On the menu, the salmon, arugula and cheese puff pastry is a light delight, while the pear and bulgur salad with chickpeas is simply unmissable. For an invigorating vitamin boost, smoothies include the Morning Energy or the Mighty Green and the vibrant Beet & Blend.

Doce also offers a wide variety of breads based on traditional and national flavours, all made on-site. Additionally, a bread delivery service is still available to Vale do Lobo owners, residents, and guests.
In a perfect combination, Doce’s dishes are paired with the flavours and aromas of exclusive coffee beans from renowned locations worldwide, along with various infusions and tea blends. Likewise, true coffee connoisseurs who value the finest beans will enjoy a taste of Jamaican Blue. At the same time, those with a more adventurous spirit can try kopi luwak, also known as civet coffee.
Regional tea options include the Mystic Infusion, which contains peppermint, olive tree, and vine, and the Midsummer Infusion, which has oregano, chamomile, bay leaf, and walnut aromas.

Open from 08h00 until sunset, Doce welcomes diners of all ages to enjoy its exceptional range of Portuguese sweets, healthy salads, fresh juices, bread and more, accompanied by some of the best coffee in the world and exceptional tea blends.
“We put Portuguese DNA at the heart of our culinary offering with these new gastronomic experiences in Vale do Lobo, fully managed by us. Both offer the essence of Portugal on a plate. It is not just about flavours – there are also aromas and feelings that echo centuries of agriculture, fishing and baking”, says Eduardo Johnston da Silva, managing director of Vale do Lobo.
“At Tinto, customers can enjoy a different experience with each visit. It’s a true celebration of Portugal’s incredible authentic flavours and traditions. Whether after a day of work, active leisure or simply a more relaxed moment in the sun, this is the time to visit Tinto. This space constitutes a true ode to Portuguese heritage in Vale do Lobo”.
“At Doce, we reveal another side of Portuguese heritage – light snacks and sweet delights full of fresh local flavours. There is always something for every taste and preference. We are innovating and offering something phenomenal”, he says, highlighting that “Doce aims to redefine the coffee experience in the Algarve”.
