Man dies in latest Arade Bridge crash

Traffic has been cut off on the bridge in both directions

A man died this morning (July 3) in a violent collision between a truck and a car on the Arade Bridge between Portimão and Lagoa on the national EN125 road.

The victim was the driver of the car, a source from the Algarve’s regional civil protection and emergency command has confirmed.

Authorities were alerted to the accident at 6.34am, which has led traffic to be cut off in both directions. Alternative routes include Portimão’s ‘old’ bridge and the A22 motorway.
